Import a recipe from any link
Paste a recipe's web address and this tool pulls out the ingredients and steps, cleanly. It runs the same import engine Trivet uses on your iPhone, so you can try the thing the other apps get wrong before you download anything.
This preview reads the page and forgets it; nothing is stored. To save, scale, plan, and cook from a recipe, get Trivet for iPhone.
How importing a recipe from a website works
Most recipe sites publish a structured version of the recipe for search engines, called schema.org Recipe data. Trivet reads that first, then falls back to careful heuristics when a site does not provide it. That is why it pulls clean ingredients and steps from a link the first time, instead of grabbing the whole blog post. Some sites block automated readers; when that happens you can paste the text or scan a photo in the app, and it still works.
