The longer version
Trivet is a recipe keeper and meal planner built around one promise: your recipes are yours, and no server of ours holds them.
Most recipe apps fail at the first step. Paste a link and you get a half-parsed page, or a login wall. Trivet reads the structured recipe data most cooking sites publish, with fallbacks for the ones that do not, and hands back clean ingredients and steps ready to cook. It also reads recipes off photos of handwritten cards, PDFs, and saved TikToks and Reels, using the text on screen and the narration, all processed on the device. Share a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or Pinterest post straight to Trivet and it builds a draft from the caption and any recipe link it points to.
From there the app does the everyday work: scale any recipe to the servings you need with real fraction and unit conversion, cook from a step-by-step mode whose timers live on the Lock Screen and ring even when the phone locks, drop recipes onto the week, and build a grocery list that merges duplicates and, with Premium, sorts itself in the order you walk the store. The grocery list can be shared with a household through Apple Reminders, and on iPad the library sits beside the open recipe and recipes drag onto the planner. There is an Apple Watch app for checking items off, widgets for tonight's dinner, and Siri for starting a timer with your hands full.
There is no account to create and no server of ours holding the library. To keep an iPhone and an iPad in step, Trivet syncs through the user’s own iCloud, which we cannot see and which a new install uses whenever the device is signed in to iCloud. Trivet's App Privacy label reads Data Not Collected. The whole collection exports to a plain file at any time, for free, because a recipe collection lasts decades and should never depend on a company staying in business.
Trivet is free for unlimited recipes, web import, saving from social posts, iCloud sync, scaling, cooking mode, a grocery list, two cookbooks, three scans, and seven planned meals at a time. Premium adds unlimited planning, photo, PDF and video import, the aisle-sorted grocery list, unlimited cookbooks, accent themes and one-tap backups, for $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, both with a seven-day free trial when the Apple Account is eligible, or $39.99 once. Prices are in US dollars. Every plan is shared with the family through Family Sharing. Trivet is made by Handler Labs LLC and is available in twelve App Store locales.
